Mildred C. Simms, 77, of the 2600 block of Azalea Garden Road, died March 11, 1996.
Mrs. Simms, a former waitress and homemaker, was a native of Virgilina, Va. She was a member of Hyde Park Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Simms; a daughter, Sylvia Blackburn of Norfolk; three sons, Herschel Tuck of Norfolk, Gene Tuck of New York, Roy Crawford of Norfolk; two sisters, Mary Harris of Virgilina, Ester Robinson of Emporia; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. Terry Beck. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Association.
