MARY P. DEANES

Mary Peele Deanes, 102, of the 8000 block of Terrene Drive and formerly of Murfreesboro, died March 11, 1996, at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, N.C.

Mrs. Deanes, the widow of Willie E. Deanes, was a homemaker, and a native of Hertford County, N.C.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Louise D. Hardin; and two sons, William E. Deanes and Robert Sidney Deanes. She is survived by a son, Benjamin F. ``Ted'' Deanes of Murfreesboro; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by Jeffrey D. Parker. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Murfreesboro. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the home of Ted Deanes, 108 Spring Ave., and the home of Greg Parker, 210 Liberty St., both of Murfreesboro. Memorial donations may be made to Murfreesboro Fire Department or to Murfreesboro Rescue Squad.
