Thomas L. O'Neal of Manteo, who retired from the Defense Intelligence Agency after 33 years, has been named personnel director for Dare County.
A native of Manteo, O'Neal has been working in the county's tax department as a real estate sales analyst since December 1994.
O'Neal was appointed by County Manager Terry Wheeler. He replaces Shawn Murphy, who resigned to take a similar position in Kill Devil Hills. by CNB
