A boundary line dispute between a group of Suffolk residents living in the Schooner Cove subdivision and the city of Portsmouth has temporarily been resolved.
The Portsmouth City Council unanimously voted Tuesday night to accept a resolution to allow the city and a Suffolk developer to pay $5,500 for replatting property in Section 1 of the neighborhood. But Portsmouth officials still need to reach an agreement with residents in two sections of Schooner Cove.
Last year Portsmouth officials sought to have the boundary line redrawn where a ditch separates the subdivision and the Sleepy Hole Golf Course and Park, which is owned by Portsmouth.
Residents alleged that Portsmouth had a hidden agenda, saying the city wanted the new survey to get the ditch and correct course drainage problems. Residents also didn't want to lose their property.
Portsmouth Deputy City Manager H. Timothy Little said the boundary line is now at the middle of the ditch. by CNB
