TEEN IN STABLE CONDITION AFTER BEING SHOT IN CAR

A teenager was shot in the back in the Wards Corner area Wednesday night after an argument led to gunfire, police said.

Police did not know what started the dispute in the 400 block of Ashlawn Drive about 7 p.m., but a suspect, or suspects, began firing at the car the 16-year-old boy was sitting in. There were three other people in the car, police said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was sitting in the back seat when he was hit.

No one else was reported injured.

The teen was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he was reported in stable condition late Wednesday night.

No arrests had been made and police were searching for suspects.
