SENIORS' SHOP REOPENS

The Portsmouth Senior Citizens Center Gift Shop, which was closed for remodeling, reopened Monday.

The retail shop, at 305 High St., provides space for people over age 55 to sell hand-made crafts. The shop operates on a consignment basis with the center taking 20 percent of the sales price.

The shop, operated by volunteers, sells a variety of hand-made items including baby gifts, toys and clothing, country craft items and quilts. The remodeled shop is also stocking Portsmouth souvenirs such as note cards and T-shirts.

The shop's hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
