PREVIEW: SALLY MANN "ON HER WORK"

LEXINGTON PHOTOGRAPHER Sally Mann is among the state's most acclaimed artists. Her black-and-white images, including many of her three children, have been shown in major museums like The Whitney Museum of American Art in New York. Her provocative work once spurred a cover story for The New York Times Sunday Magazine.

Mann lectures at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at The Chrysler Museum of Art, 245 W. Olney Rd., Norfolk. Her talk is free and open to the public.

She's in a show at the Chrysler, ``Photography Speaks II,'' which features 70 fabulous photos from the museum's collection through March 31. An accompanying catalog pairs the photos with comments from each artist.

Books published on her work include ``At Twelve'' (1988), ``Immediate Family'' (1992) and ``Still Time'' (1994).

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. Free admission, although a donation is suggested. Call 664-6200 for more information. ILLUSTRATION: Photos
