Due to a typographical error, the word ``not'' was left out of
the following paragraph in Dawson Taylor's letter to the editor,
published March 8:
``Until late spring, however, along with the rest of us, they had
confidence in the superintendent and were unfortunately swayed by
his continual reassuring pronouncements. I venture to say that a
large majority of us would have not done things very differently.''
