Like Bette Cassidy Stant (letter, March 2), I am irritated when I hear children referred to as ``kids.'' I was taught that ``kids'' are baby goats! Let's show more respect to our children.

Bette Cassidy Stant expressed her irritation at the constant reference to ``kids'' when referring to children (letter, March 2). Yes, many others are not only irritated but revolted at this careless substitution of the wrong word.
I expressed my revulsion 75 years ago and have never stopped. I am grateful to Ms. Stant for bringing it to public attention by her letter.
