OLD WARRIOR SHOULD STEP ASIDE

As I turn back the pages of time to Nov. 8, 1992, I ask myself some questions. As a minority voter, one of the 43 percent who helped elect Bill Clinton as president, do I think he fulfilled my hope for a better America?

His Cabinet selections immediately made me realize I was a victim of a great deception. His every choice was an embarrassment to a nation that deserved people of role-model standing. Instead, choices were morally corrupt and with questionable attitudes.

What is his standing as he runs for re-election? It will take the very best candidate to beat the charlatan in the White House. He has the guile to convince even the greatest doubter that his every failure is an unquestionable success.

Bob Dole is out of step with the times. At age 73, he is a respected casualty of World War II. That war was followed by Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf. They are grim reminders that it's time for the old warrior to carry on as the leader of the Senate and let a younger presidential aspirant provide the needed guidance into the new century.
