MANUEL E. SOLANO

Manuel Enriquez Solano, 91, of the 3500 block of Hilbert St., died March 14, 1996, at Chesapeake General Hospital.

Mr. Solano, a retired electrical engineer, was a native of the Philippines. He was the widower of Ester Ordonez Solano and a Catholic.

Survivors include three daughters, Maria Louisa Gunther and her husband, Ernest of Germany, Maria Theresa Solano and Maria Cristina Solano of Virginia Beach; seven sons, Manuel P. Solano, Benjamin P. Solano and Ruben P. Solano, all of the Philippines, Miguel P. Solano and his wife, Zenaida, Edwardo O. Solano and his wife, Victoria of Chesapeake, Augusto O. Solano and his wife, Aurora, Jose O. Solano of Virginia Beach; a brother, Benjamin E. Solano of the Philippines; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Miguel Jr., Edgar, Ashley, Jennifer and Timothy of Chesapeake, Julie of Lynchburg, Va., 10 grandchildren in the Philippines; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Austin of Lynchburg; and friends, Melody and Douglas Harris of Chesapeake.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, by Father Luke Policicchio, O.S.B. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. A Christian Wake service will be held at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach today at 7 p.m. with the visitation following the service until 9 p.m.
