The Portsmouth Junior Service League has a 40-year history of wonderfully successful dual-purpose activity.
For many years they sponsored the LPGA tournament at Sleepy Hole, providing entertainment for the region, and then poured the proceeds into projects, providing for worthwhile endeavors across South Hampton Roads.
The Spring Antiques Show and Sale, very successful in its first year, will be staged again next weekend at Hunt-Mapp Middle School on Willett Drive. Like the golf tournament, this show will do two things. It will provide a fun weekend for those interested in antiques and later provide money for geriatric health care. In addition, the quality of the show adds luster to the city's image among those from out of town making their first visit here.
The Service League deserves our thanks and our support for their hard work. Put the antique show on your calendar for next weekend. by CNB
