ART EXHIBIT FEATURES SEASCAPES ANOTHER SHOW GIVES ART STUDENTS A CHANCE TO DISPLAY THEIR WORK.

OLDE TOWNE ART GALLERY: New seascapes and landscapes by J. Robert Burnell will be featured for two weeks at the Olde Towne Art Gallery, corner of High and Court streets. The show, with 25 paintings, will be exhibited through April 5.

The gallery will stage an opening reception for Burnell from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

CHURCHLAND EXHIBIT: A ``Get-Ready-for-Spring'' art show and reception will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the Rose Garden Art Studio, 3116-B Tyre Neck Road.

Works are by students of Tisha Rose, who teaches classes for young people and adults. They include a wide variety of drawings as well as paintings in watercolors, oils and acrylics.

Exhibitors will include Jeanetta Bowles, Peggy Ricks, Betty Plante, Sally Dalton, Joan Rudd, Rosemarie Paradee, Cindy Mills, Bob Scholes, Sandy Harrison and Pat Ward.

``The focus of the past classes has been not just how to draw but how to learn to draw,'' Rose said. ``The students see as an artist must see. Empty spaces and edges become as important as that which is being drawn.''

The reception is open to the public free of charge.

CLASSES AT POTRAFKA: Art classes for adults and children are being formed at the new Potrafka Gallery, 600 Washington St.

Professionals in each field will teach drawing, printing, sculpting, oil painting, watercolor painting, potting, bookbinding and photography.

Children's classes are scheduled after school on weekdays and Saturday mornings. Adult classes are scheduled mainly at 7 p.m., although some classes will be offered during the day.

A seminar on Ukrainian egg design is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 30.

In addition to the art classes, courses in easy cooking and European desserts will be taught.

The fee for classes is $10 for each two-hour weekly session. The cost of the seminar is $25.
