JOHN A. CANNADY

John Albert Cannady, 81, died March 16, 1996, in his home.

He was a retired assistant manger for F.C.X. He was a native of Sampson County, N.C, and a member of Powellsville Baptist Church. Mr. Cannady was a member of Powellsville Scrub Club.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Willis Cannady; three daughters, Diana Nicholas of Maitland, Fla., Judith Harrington of Greenville, N.C., Nancy Pressley of Charlotte, N.C.; son, John D. Cannady of Charlotte, N.C.; three sisters, Elma Stephenson of Raleigh, N.C., Louise Marcus of Reidsville, N.C., Margaret Hope of Clinton, N.C.; two brothers, Marsdon Cannady Jr. of Erwin, N.C, Bobby Porter Cannady of Burlington, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday by the Rev. C.T. Edmondson and the Rev. Daniel M. Spell in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, N.C. Burial is in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, N.C. Memorial donations may be made to Roanoke Chowan Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910.
