Susie Mae Mitchell, 77, of the 300 block of West 35th St., died March 15, 1996 at Lafayette Villa Health Care.
She was born in Louisburg, N.C. and was the widow of Cleauthur Mitchell. She was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Susie Blunt and Regina Mitchell, both of Portsmouth, Clairneise Dickens of Norfolk and Phyllis Mitchell of Chesapeake; a son, Melvin Mitchell of Norfolk; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be on Tuesday, at noon, at Mount Hermon Baptist Church, 3101 Lens Ave., with the Rev. Steven A. Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. The viewing will be Monday at Corprew Funeral Home and will begin at noon. The body will be taken to the church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
