Esther Hackner Goodman, 86, of the 400 block of Riverside Drive, answered God's calling March 18, 1996, in her home.
Mrs. Goodman, a native of the Berkley section of Norfolk, was the widow of Harry Louis Goodman. She was a former elementary school teacher with the Norfolk County School System. She was a member of Gomley Chesed Synagogue.
Survivors include her son, Louis M. Goodman of Portsmouth; and a sister, Bertha Shapiro of Norfolk.
A graveside funeral will be held at 1 p.m. today in Gomley Chesed Cemetery by Rabbi Philip S. Krohn. Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gomley Chesed Building Fund, 3110 Sterling Point Drive, Portsmouth, Va., 23703.
