Robert B. Byrd Jr., 67, died Saturday, March 16, 1996.
He was a native of Raleigh, N.C., and he retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1971. He then went to work for Klate-Holt (now Mason-Hanger) at NASA for 19 years.
Mr. Byrd is survived by his wife, Geraldine ``Gerry'' Byrd; three daughters, Laura R. Byrd of Hampton, Rebecca B. Dickenson of Sonoma, Calif., and Catherine Byrd of Davis, Calif.; a sister, Mary Byrd of Raleigh, N.C.; and two granddaughters.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Parklawn Memorial Park by Chaplain (Maj.) David R. Maack. The family will be at home, 108 Clemwood Parkway, but friends are also welcome to pay their respects at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, at any time.
