WILLIAM A. SEARS

William Ashley Sears, 52, of the 500 block of Elm St., died March 19, 1996, at a local hospital.

Mr. Sears was a former fire captain at Oceana Air Station, Virginia Beach, and was employed with Seaward Marine Services, Norfolk, as a foreman. He was a native of Norfolk and a member of Moose Lodge (NU)1198.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline A. Sears of Norfolk; his mother, Vernie Mae Sears of Norfolk; and a brother, Ronald Sears of Baltimore, Md. He is survived by three children and five grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by Dr. Willis Dowling. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Donations may be made to the Burn Unit of Childrens Hospital of the Kings Daughters.
