A 52-year-old man who suffered severe burns during an industrial accident died Tuesday morning in a hospital, a spokeswoman said.
Ashley Sears, of the 900 block of Elm Ave., suffered the burns March 11 when he and another man were working on a hydraulic hose at Seaward Marine Services Inc. in the 5400 block of Beamon Road.
The line fell into an electrical panel, broke and caused a short-circuit. A spokesman for the Department of Fire and Paramedical Services said the sparks ignited the hydraulic fluid.
Sears and co-worker John Tumber, 26, were covered with ``liquid flame.'' Tumber also suffered burns of his face and severe burns on his arm.
