The Fraternal Order of Police Associates has selected Albert A. D'Amico, Jeffrey R. Forbes and Michael J. Mezo as the outstanding Norfolk Police Officers for the third and fourth quarters of 1995.

Dr. L.D. Britt, professor and chairman of surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School, has been named 1996 ``Man of the Year'' by the Area II Southside Hampton Roads NAACP. In addition to his duties in surgery, Britt is chief of the division of trauma and critical care at the medical school.

Walter B. Harlow of Norfolk has been named knight of the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation, the organization's philanthropic arm. Harlow, who is a three-year member, attained knight status by contributing significantly to the organization.

CAMPUS NOTES

DePaul Medical Center School's chapter of the Virginia Nursing Students' Association attended the spring convention and was honored for having the most active constituency, the most outstanding community project and the best legislative project. In addition, the chapter was recognized for its recruitment efforts to involve pre-nursing students actively in the association and for its scrapbook highlighting the year.

Jamie Clements, Jamie Dusenberry, Mary Gavin, Mary Gedon, Melissa Kimmel, April Langless and Erin Tibbitt, all of Norfolk, received Virginia Nursing Students' Association scholarships acknowledging their academic excellence.

Felicia M. Madalinski, daughter of Rachel Madalinski of Norfolk and a 1989 graduate of Maury High School, has been placed on the president's list at Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, N.C.

Three Norfolk students were named to the 1995 fall semester dean's list at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington: Sean M. Lassalle, son of D.F. Lassalle of Norfolk; Carter G. Mackey, a graduate of Norfolk Christian High School and son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary W. Mackey of Norfolk; and Benjamin L. Kjome, a graduate of Cox High School and son of Capt. and Mrs. Robert L. Kjome of Norfolk.

Three Norfolk State University students and senior scholars in the university's Dozoretz National Institute for Minorities in Applied Sciences have been awarded graduate school fellowships. Kantis Simmons received a fellowship awarded by the National Physical Science Consortium. Simmons will study at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. Danielle Cox-Morgan of Norfolk received a fellowship from the National Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Science. Cox-Morgan will study at Duke University in Durham, N.C. Tamara Jones received a research and teaching fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Karen Michele Kitsis, a 1995 graduate of Norfolk Christian High School and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nikitas Kitsis of Norfolk, has been named to the fall semester dean's list at Grove City (Pa.) College.

Christie Marie Underwood and Jennifer Lynn Murden, both of Norfolk, have been named to the president's list at Chowan College in Murfreesboro, N.C., for academic achievement for the fall semester.

Michele Baker, a graduate of Norview High School, has been named to the fall 1995 dean's list for academic achievement at the University of Rochester in New York.

Charlie Meek III, son of JoAnn M. Pilcher and the late Charles Meek Jr. of Norfolk, has been named to the dean's list for the fall term at Bridgewater (Va.) College.

The following Old Dominion University students and Norfolk residents have been included in the 1996 edition of ``Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges:'' Tyronna Renai Butler, Ricardo Manalo Mendoza Jr., Curtis M. Rozier and Hakizumwami B. Runesha.

MILITARY PEOPLE
