Alexander S. Warren Sr., 68, of the 28000 block of Round Hill Road, died March 17, 1996, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Warren was a native of Southampton and was self-employed as a farmer. He was the son of the late David Warren and Rosa Warren. He was a member of Beaulah Land A.M.E.Z. Church, where he was a steward, trustee and treasurer.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Helen T. Warren; a son, Alexander S. Warren Jr. of Sedley; a grandson, Alexander S. Warren III of Sedley; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Warren of Sedley; five sisters, Ida Harris of Norfolk, Onell Cochran of Camp Spring, Md., Adlene Cosby of Washington, D.C., Gracie Baker of Portsmouth and Vivian Warren of Suitland, Md.; three brothers, Rev. Lemuel Warren of Courtland, Matthew Warren of Suitland, Md., and Marvin Warren of Portsmouth; an uncle, J. Rossie Warren of Norfolk.
A funeral will be held today at noon in Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ivor, by the Rev. William Logan. Burial will follow in the Beaulah Land A.M.E.Z. Church cemetery. Viewing will begin Wedensday at 10 a.m. The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. today.
