Linda B. Ferguson, 47, of the 2200 block of Deep Creek Blvd., died March 19, 1996, at her home.
She was a retired social worker from the Portsmouth Department of Social Services, where she worked for 10 years. She was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and a member of Liberty Temple Church, Norfolk. She was involved in the choir, a member of the usher board, a Sunday school teacher, and a member of the radio broadcast ministry.
Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly M. Ferguson of Portsmouth; a son, Kevin M. Ferguson of Portsmouth; her mother, Gladys H. Burrell of Portsmouth; three brothers, Stephen H. Burrell and Calvin R. Burrell Sr., both of Portsmouth, Marvin M. Burrell of Los Angeles; two aunts, Margaret H. Nixon and Jerelees G. Jones; two sisters-in-law, Mattie S. Burrell and Rhonda B. Burrell, all of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Reuben G. Burrell.
The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Roy Smith and Rev. Bettie Johnson. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon Friday. The family will receive visitors at the residence.
