Glen E. Wilson, 86, of the 200 block of East Chester St., died Wednesday, March 20, 1996, in a local hospital.
He was a native of Marshall, N.C., and was the husband of Lillian W. Wilson. Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Geneva W. James of Marshall, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Wilson retired in 1973 after 30 years as an electrician with the Naval Air Rework Facility. He had formerly worked with American Enka of North Carolina and Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Co.
He was a member of Ocean View Baptist Church and its Blackwell Bible Class. A member of the choir, he led the singing for the Adult 5 Sunday School Department for some years. He had been a member of the Shenkmans Civic Choir during the 1940s and 1950s. Gospel Quartet singing had been a special interest to him during his lifetime. He was also a member of Ocean View Masonic Lodge (NU)335 and was a Naval veteran of World War II.
The funeral with Masonic rites will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, Saturday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
