George Franklin ``Jeff'' Black, 61, of the 4700 block of Rutledge Road, a loving father and grandfather, died Tuesday, March 19, 1996, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mr. Black was born in Jonesboro, Tenn., and was the son of the late Fred Houston and Amy Allene Sells Black. He had retired as manager with the Southland Corporation with 20 years of service and was currently employed with Hughes Trucking in Chesapeake. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Chesapeake and the Supply Hunt Club in Courtland.
Survivors include three daughters, Georgia Black Barbosa and Danita Black, both of Chesapeake, and Teresa ``Terri'' Morelen of Virginia Beach; sister, Bonnie Ford; and one brother, Gary Black, both of Gray, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. Richard Mallory. Interment will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
