Charley Griffin Jr., 51, died March 13, 1996, in his residence. He was a native of Portsmouth.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Griffin; 10 children; four sisters, Shirley Jackson of Harlem, N.Y., Cadell Davis of Suffolk, and Doris Davis and Helem Sunmer of Portsmouth; two brothers, Louis Griffin and Jacob Sunmer of Portsmouth; a special niece and nephew, Angela Griffin and Darrell Rodgers of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; and a special father and mother, Jacob Stanback and Beulah Bowden of Portsmouth; two brothers-in-law, Ernest Davis and Nathaniel Rodgers of Portsmouth; two aunts, Rosa Griffin of Connecticut and Alice Spence of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends of Perrine, Fla., and Portsmouth. He was predeceased by his parents, Dora G. Sumner and Charley White.
A funeral will be conducted Saturday in the House of God Church in Perrine. Information was provided by Serenity Funeral Home.
