Mary Virginia Brockwell Daniel, 81, widow of Alvin Royce Daniel, died March 19, 1996, at her residence in the 4900 block of Floral St.
She was a native of Disputanta, Va., and was the daughter of the late James S. and Mary Lou Brockwell. Mrs. Daniel had resided in Virginia Beach for the past 38 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Wilma Sue VanBuren and son-in-law, Kevin L. VanBuren, of Virginia Beach; a granddaughter, Wendy D. Adkins and her husband, Roger, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandsons, Donald C. Mills and his wife, Suzanne, of Suffolk, and Daniel W. Clukey; three great-grandsons, Edgar W. Porter and Jonathan M. Porter, both of Virginia Beach, and Jonathan C. Mills of Suffolk; a sister, Beatrice Fentress of Virginia Beach; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Petersburg, Va., chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin L. Bagent, pastor of Ocean Park Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, of which she was a member, officiating. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
