If Portsmouth's proposed budget is adopted, taxes on cigarettes
in Portsmouth would rise from 30 cents a pack to 35 cents. A
MetroNews story Wednesday had the incorrect amount.
The name of Ohef Sholom Temple was misspelled on the covers of
Wednesday's Virginia Beach Beacon and today's Norfolk Compass.
The amount of drinking water that Tidewater Community College's
Suffolk campus will receive from the city of Suffolk is about 10
million gallons a year. A story in Wednesday's MetroNews section
incorrectly reported that figure.
Due to an editing error, the wording was wrong in a pullout quote
with a MetroNews story Wednesday about Back Bay National Wildlife
Refuge. The quote, which was correct in the story, should have said,
``For us, that tract is coveted. . . . It's biologically and
ecologically significant.''
