Cathron Lucy Ferguson, 84, of the 400 block of Albemarle Drive, died Wednesday, March 20, 1996, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mrs. Ferguson was born in Lunenburg County, Va. She was the daughter of the late Theodore Crowder and Manie Wall Lucy and the widow of Joseph Blount Ferguson. Mrs. Ferguson was a retired registered nurse with the city of Chesapeake with 17 years of service. She attended Riverside School of Nursing in Newport New. Mrs. Ferguson was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and a member of the choir and the Builders Bible Class for 47 years. She also belonged to the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and was a former member of the Jolliff Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Ferguson also served as a volunteer at Chesapeake General Hospital.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Hedrick of Richland Hills, Texas; her son, J. Robert Ferguson Sr. of Chesapeake; two brothers, Woodrow Lucy and William Lucy, both of Lawrenceville, Va.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oak Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. W. Roberts McIvor. Interment will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge today from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund, 472 N. Battlefield Blvd. Chesapeake, Va. 23320.
