ABOVE: Ye Dudlies, the home of Adam Keeling built circa 1680, has
been added onto several times. In 1938, George W. Syer of Portsmouth
bought the house and 258 acres of Great Neck Point for $20,000. He
did $7,000 worth of restoration and additions. That year, he formed
the Geo W. Syer Lumber Co. and began making quality ironing boards
on the farm. RIGHT: This is a label from one of the boards that was
found at the home of Charles King, clerk of court for Gloucester
County. Note that on the label there is a picture of the old bridge
on the road between Lynnhaven and London Bridge (now Potters Road).
