Workers tear down the 1945 annex of the Croatan Inn, one of the
oldest hotels - built in 1932 - on the Outer Banks. The Inn's annex
housed summer tourists until the mid-1980s, when the Inn closed.
Papagayo's Restaurant then took over the Inn and housed some of its
summer employees in the annex. Papagayo's closed in 1995, and a new
restaurant, Quagmire's, will open in May.
