Marvin Paul Askew III, 33, of 1481 St. James Court, Louisville, Ky., died March 21, 1996, in a Louisville hospital.
He had received his associate degree of science from Mount Olive College and his B.A. of music degree from Pheiffer College. Mr. Askew had attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary for two years before transferring to the University of Louisville where he was studying toward a master's of art degree in choral and music ministry. He was a floral designer for Colonial Designs Florist and a member of St. John's Evangelical United Church of Christ in Louisville, Ky.
Survivors include his parents, Annie Mae Williams Askew and Marvin Paul Askew Jr. of Corapeake; his sisters, Linda Ann Edwards of Corapeake, Kitty E. Martin of Suffolk; his grandmother, Annie Virginia Williams of Windsor; niece, Michelle Martin and nephew, Jonathan E. Martin, both of Suffolk; his close friend, Stuart Walker of Louisville, Ky.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Damascus Christian Church Cemetery, Sunbury, N.C., by the Rev. Riddick Pearce. The family will receive friends in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Suffolk on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m.
