LUTHER M. SWINDELL

Luther M. Swindell, 76, died March 22, 1996, in Virginia Beach.

He retired as a master sargeant in the U.S. Marine Corps after 20 years of service. He also retired from Piedmont Airlines after 21 years of service.

Born in Sparta, Tenn., he was a member of Bayside Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was also involved with Cornerstone Sunday School Class. Mr. Swindell was a member of Little Creek Lions Club and VFW Post 60.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes B. Swindell; sister, Ellen Powell of Sparta, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Donald Wilson in Bayside Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
