KATHRYN L. BERNHARDT

Kathryn L. Bernhardt, 73, of the 300 block of E. Palmyra Drive, died March 22, 1996 in Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

She was born in Woodbury, N.J. and was the widow of James L. Bernhardt. She was a real estate agent and was employed with Century 21 Charter Realty. Mrs. Bernhardt was a member of the Retired Officers Wives Society of Tidewater, the Retired Officers Wives Bowling League, the Womens International Bowling Congress, and bowling leagues of Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

She is survived by two daughters, Irene Collins Hatcher of Douglas, Ga., Linda Bernhardt Shoop of Virginia Beach; two sons, Russell ``Russ'' Collins of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Jack W. Collins of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Florence Schwiter of Woodbury N.J., Dorothy Lopez of Florida; three brothers, Edward Dankel, Robert ``Bob'' Dankel, Alan Dankel, all of Woodbury; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall Chapel, 5184 Princess Anne Road, the Rev. Steve Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service and also at the home of Kathryn Bernhardt, 301 E. Palmyra Dr., Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the music program of Good News Baptist Church, Roanoke Rapids, N.C. or to the American Cancer Society.
