RETIRE OLD SENATORS

As a student of the Bob Dole school of charm, I think all legislators should retire at age 70. I saw Strom Thurman and others asleep while the TV camera was sending this same picture around the world. The U.S. Senate is not a retirement home. They say he has experience, but what good is experience when you can't remember where you put it?

Sen. Bob Dole speaks of the war he was in 50 years ago. He has already been rewarded more than most - 35 years in the Senate, a millionaire several times over and lucky to return home. A lot of dear, sweet boys never came back from the war.

I don't think Dole cares about the veterans. When he and Newt shut down the U.S. government, he let the veterans worry about their checks and how they would live without them. It was a mean thing to do, and I wonder if he would do it again.
