WILLIAM E. WETHERINGTON

William E. ``Uncle Bill'' Wetherington, 76, of the 500 block of Plantation Drive, died March 22, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.

He was a native of Sampson County, N.C., and was the widower of Geneva P. Wetherington. He was retired from the Naval Air Station and was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Pigott and Deborah Johnson; two sons, William R. Wetherington and Gregory Wetherington; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Mr. Leon Koontz. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gideons International.
