William H. ``Chuck'' Harris, 77, of the 200 block of W. 113th St., a self-employed businessman, died March 20, 1996, in St. Luke Hospital.
Mr. Harris was born in Norfolk County and formerly attended Gilmerton Star AMEZ Church in Chesapeake. He was a World War II Army veteran. He attended Norfolk County public schools and Norfolk State College.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Daughtry Harris; two daughters, Mable H. Pugh of Chesapeake and Claudia Riddick of Portsmouth; a son, Paul R. Harris of Maryland; a sister Helen H. Cox of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a devoted cousin, Adell Hunt of Chesapeake; a host of other cousins, in-laws and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Estella Williams Jones; and a devoted son-in-law, Martin Pugh.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Moses Blount Sr. Viewing will begin at 6 p.m. today in Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth. The family will be at the home of his daughter, 320 Dexter St., Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.
