Leonard Hamilton Jr., 71, died March 23, 1996, in his residence.
He was a self-employed electric welder.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, June E. Hamilton; five daughters, Cathy D. Merritt of South Mills, Diane Hamilton of Williamston, Regina Holloman, Sandy Orvis and Brenda Sue Pearce, all of Chesapeake; a son, Leonard E. Hamilton of Barco; a sister, Myrtle Widner of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Denver Hamilton of Barco and Woodrow Hamilton of Woodbridge, Va.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert S. Hamilton; and a granddaughter, Lisa Maria Hamilton.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Providence Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Billy R. Lewis. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today and other times at 2817 Omar St., Chesapeake.
