LLOYD W. CLINE

Lloyd Wood Cline, 69, of the 300 block of Sequoia Road, died Sunday, March 24, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Cline was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., and was the widower of Irene V. Cline. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as an instructor and was also retired from the Navy as a chief petty officer. He was a member of America-Fellowship Masonic Lodge (NU)148 and a veteran of World War II and Korea.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Gwyn Thomason and husband Gary of Okatie, S.C.; a stepson, Wayne Messex and wife Doris of Chesapeake; a sister, Jackie Boleman of Chattanooga; a brother, L.M. Cline of Rossville, Ga.; two grandchildren, Howard Messex and wife Christine of Portsmouth and Janet Kendall and husband Michael of Hillsborough, N.C.; and a great-grandchild, Aaron Kendall of Hillsborough.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Keith J. Lewis. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
