RUBY L. JONES

Ruby L. Jones, 73, of the 300 block of Truxton Ave., died March 22, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.

Mrs. Jones was born in Warrenton, N.C., and was the widow of Grant Jones. She was retired as a bus driver for the Portsmouth public schools after nine years. She was a member of Fellowship United Church of Christ, Chesapeake.

Survivors include three daughters, Wendy L. Foreman and husband Robert, Geraldine J. Granger and husband Stanford, all of Portsmouth, and Christina J. Copeland and husband Daryl of Suffolk; a sister, Clara Hunt of Henderson, N.C.; three brothers, Samuel Nicholson and Bernice Nicholson, both of Warrenton and Leroy Nicholson of Huntington, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Karlton W. Jones.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Fellowship United Church of Christ, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Winston E. Waugh. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
