Mary Lillian Forrest, 89, died Monday, March 25, 1996.
She was a native of Norfolk, but had lived on the Peninsula for most of her life. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Hampton, a member of the Commrade Class and also a member of The Pocahantas.
Mrs. Forrest is survived by four daughters; Gwen Callis of Mathews, Marion Counts of Poquoson, Charlotte Spencer of Hampton, and Mary Lou Wood of Newport News; one son, Robert B. Forrest of Henrico, N.C.; one sister, Julia E. Foster of Norfolk; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday 2 p.m. in Oakland Cemetery by the Rev. Nolan Crowder. Contributions can be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 900 Commonwealth Place, Va. Beach 23464.
