Edith E. Mason, 61, lifelong Newport News resident, died Sunday, March 24, 1996.
Miss Mason retired from Bennette Paint Company in 1995. She served as administrative assistant to James P. Bennette, the company founder, and most recently as assistant to the credit manager. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hampton. She graduated from Thomas Nelson Community College in 1976. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the Peninsula Chapter of PSL, the Credit and Financial Development Division of the National Association of Credit Management, the Peninsula Community Theatre, and the Peninsula Choral Society.
She is survived by her mother, Gertrude W. Mason of Newport News.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peninsula Funeral Home by Rev. Lary Diehl. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to First United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 1017 Todds Lane, Hampton, Va. 23666.
