Renate Schulz Holmes, 48, of the 1400 block of Earl Ave., died March 25, 1996, at a Portsmouth hospital.
Mrs. Holmes, a native of Dornigheim, Germany, was a seamstress for Bob's Auto Upholstery, Portsmouth.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathrin Corey of Newport News, Donna Burnham and her husband, Willie, of Chesapeake; two sons, Dan Holmes and his wife, Rebecca, of Chesapeake, Raymond Holmes Jr. and his wife, Kimberly of Portsmouth; two sisters, Heidi of Germany and Brigetta of Montana; a brother, Kurt of Germany; five grandchildren; and three beloved friends, Sue, Faye and Bessy.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. C.J. Twitty. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
