Virginia Overton of the 3200 block of Barlbourough Way died March 24, 1996.
A native of Princess Anne County, she was a retired employee of the Virginia Beach School System. She was a member of Gift of Life Church, Virginia Beach, and was a member of the Mother's Board.
She is survived by one son, Alvin A. Armstrong Sr. of Virginia Beach; one sister, Lillie M. Spivey of Chesapeake; one brother, Curlee Overton Sr. of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held noon Wednesday by Bishop B.J. Gatlin in Gift of Life Church, 2329 Seaboard Road, Virginia Beach. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. Community Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gift of Life Church building fund.
