An Interstate 664 ramp was closed for about three hours Monday when a tractor-trailer overturned, injuring the driver, state police said.
Welford R. Brown, 64, of Lynchburg, was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after being pinned behind the steering wheel for a short time, said Tammy Van Dame, state police spokeswoman. Brown was in stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman reported.
The accident occurred about 10 a.m. at a Military Highway ramp. Brown was headed up the on-ramp to northbound 664 when the truck overturned.
A state police motor carrier safety team found no problems with the truck's equipment. Brown was charged with reckless driving.
