Joseph F. `Uncle Joe' McPherson, of the 700 block of Thayor St., died March 24, 1996.
Mr. McPherson, a native of Rich Square, N.C., was the widower of Aileen McPherson.
Survivors include two daughters, Vera McPherson and Vanessa R. Mann, both of Norfolk; two adopted daughters, Elizabeth B. Kelley of Norfolk, Linda B. Winbourne of Suffolk; a son, John D. Harvey of Philadelphia; his mother, Mary R. Evans of Norfolk; a sister, Blanche Freeman of Portsmouth; six grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; and a devoted friend, Eloise J. Smith.
A chapel service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Community Funeral Home, Norfolk, by the Rev. Melvin Bellamy. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norfolk.
