Joseph Nathanel Robertson, 73, of the 700 block of River Creek Road, died March 24, 1996.
Mr. Robertson, a schoolteacher, retired from the Norfolk School System in 1986 after 36 1/2 years of service. He was a native of Norfolk and a member of New Central Baptist Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley L. Robertson; a daughter-in-law, Linda D. Robertson of Chesapeake; his son, Keith N. Robertson of Chesapeake; a brother, Eugene Robertson of Norfolk; three grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; mother-in-law, Mary Spellman of Norfolk. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty L. Hill.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at New Central Baptist Church, by the Rev. James Missick. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Visitation will be Thursday at Pretlow and Sons' Funeral Home, Chesapeake, until 8 p.m.
