GRACE C. RIDOUT

Grace Conyers Ridout, 79, departed this life Tuesday, March 26, 1996, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Ridout was a native of Chester and the daughter of the late Mr. Charles Benjamin and Mrs. Etha Meade Conyers of Chester. She was a Longwood graduate and retired from Chesterfield County School System, where she taught elementary school for 38 years. She was a member of Chester Baptist Church and a founding member of the Chester Chapter of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Ridout was preceded in death by her husband, John ``Jack'' Samuel Ridout.

Mrs. Ridout is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bradley and Susan Ridout of Virginia Beach, C. Stuart and India Sue Brittle Ridout of Chester; three grandchildren, Ms. JoAnn M. Ridout of Virginia Beach, John S. Ridout and Gregory S. Ridout, both of Chester; a brother-in-law and his wife, Mr. Murrell L. and Anna Ridout of Marlton, N.J.; aunts, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, Colonial Heights, Va., with the Rev. Edward J. Stansfield officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. Family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers are welcomed or contributions may be made to the Chester Baptist Church Building Fund.
