CHARLES F. STROHECKER

Charles Fredrick Strohecker, 68, of the 500 block of Hillwell Road, died Monday, March 25, 1996, at his residence.

Mr. Strohecker was born in Baltimore, Md. He was the son of the late Charles and Madeline Finnerty Strohecker and husband of Doris Louise Strohecker. He retired from Civil Service in 1987 as a quality insurance inspector after 24 years of service. Mr. Strohecker was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Debbie S. and Steve Ireland, of Richmond; his three sons, and their wives, Ric and Julie Strohecker, Donn and Lori Strohecker, and Phil and Debbie Strohecker, all of Chesapeake; his sister, Carolyn Bitzel of Towson, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church by the Rev. William Boldin. Interment will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Portsmouth-Chesapeake Unit, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, 23513.
