MATTIE E. WINBORNE

Mattie Elizabeth Winborne, 81, of the 800 block of Wolcott Ave., died March 25, 1996, at her residence.

Mrs. Winborne, a native of Harrellsville, N.C., was a retired self-employed seamstress. She was the widow of Elton Frank Winborne and a member of Queen Street Baptist Church, Norfolk. She was also a member of the St. Marks Order of Eastern Star Chapter (NU)62.

Survivors include her daughter, Vi Vernice Williamson of Rockville, Md.; two sisters, Rosa Frances of Norfolk, Mary Lilly Johnson of New York, N.Y.; a grandson, William Earnest Winborne of Los Angeles; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Queen Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Peter Wherry. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The body will be placed in the church at 9 a.m. Saturday. Family and friends will assemble at 852 Wolcott Ave., Norfolk at 8:30 a.m. Saturday for the funeral procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk, is in charge.
