NORFOLK ACADEMY WILL REMAIN THE TEAM TO TOPPLE THE BULLDOGS WILL BE LED BY ANGELA HUCLES, A SENIOR FORWARD WHO SCORED 47 GOALS LAST YEAR.

Two-time Virginian-Pilot Player of the Year Angela Hucles, a senior forward, should lead Norfolk Academy to another TCIS championship. Hucles, who scored 47 goals and had 23 assists last year, was named a Parade All-American this year.

``We remain the team to beat in the TCIS, but I see the TCIS being its strongest ever,'' said Bulldogs coach Kevin Sims, whose team returns six starters. ``We play the most demanding schedule in the state, if not in the country.''

Among the Bulldogs' opponents: Eastern District power Maury, Southeastern District power Great Bridge, last year's Peninsula District champ Tabb, and perhaps the top five programs in Virginia Beach: Cox, Kempsville, First Colonial, Salem and Tallwood.

Sims expects his major competition in the TCIS to come from Norfolk Collegiate and Nansemond-Suffolk in addition to an improved league overall.

A look around the rest of the TCIS:
